I was a patient at Topeka State psychiatric facility back in the 80's. So going back there and taking all these pictures of the facility brought back a lot of positive memories of when I was a patient there. All three buildings are boarded up and the grounds themselves are accessible to the public but the buildings themselves you cannot access them in terms of gaining entry. you can walk on the grounds as much as you want, take as many pictures as you want. In fact I highly recommend this place if you want a true historical experience since it is a historic landmark. It's also a good place to go to get a good workout because of how big the psychiatric facility grounds are in terms of size I'm talking like 5 and a half football fields. That's how big the facility grounds are.
