Generally speaking, the staff are friendly and helpful however this isn't the case when you're talking about the E.R. they don't take the Emergency part of that very seriously.
Had an emergency and went into the ER. Took 4 hours for me to give up, and decide to come back the next day. Here we are at hour 3 still waiting to be seen. They have 1 doctor on staff at all times, yet a full lobby of patients. Save your time, go elsewhere.
Worst experience with my husband and the orthopedic doctor! He was rude, very disrespectful and smacked his gum the entire time. He clearly did not care about my husbands concerns with a lump causing him pain. He had waited 3 weeks to see a doctor to only be shrugged off and told that he has no idea what he's talking about. Why do I see so many comments with similar reviews?! It disgusts me that this is the way we treat our veterans!
We are still sitting ... we've been waiting for four hours....

I have never experienced any issues as previously stated from previous encounters with other VA facilities. Topeka VA stands alone in providing excellent service to veterans.
