When I learned of this missing payment, I called Bank of America and paid it by phone. Concerned about the effect the late payment would have on my credit rating and after several futile attempts to address the issue by phone, I went to a Bank of America branch in Topeka. A banker contacted customer service on my behalf. The customer service representative stated unequivocally that the late payment would not be reported to credit reporting agencies because Bank of America's accounting system had not yet generated its reports for December, and, since my account had been made current prior to generation of the reports, the system would not detect the late payment. I repeatedly asked him to confirm my understanding. He placed me on hold, saying he was going to speak to someone in the credit reporting department. Upon returning to the call, he again stated that the late payment had not been reported and would not be reported. Several months later I reviewed my credit history and learned he had lied.
Early December: Im Writing this while standing in line. Been standing here for 22 minutes. Two customers at the counter...tellers walked off to do something. No others teller brought on to help the 9 of us in line. Terrible Bank!!! Update..I'm back here on 12/29, 12 people in line, 1 teller. Finally I had to ask for a 2nd teller who was EXTREMELY rude because she had to get up and do something. Worst bank Ive ever dealt with and it's consistently bad!
Incompetent, Dishonest, and Belligerent.
I am at the bank at 4:30pm on a Friday.... One teller is working with 9 people waiting in line. I feel so sorry for the teller. Management here is awful, the tellers are amazing. I experience this at every visit. Long line and 1 teller.
Bank of America has proven itself to be incompetent and dishonest. Do your banking somewhere else.
I have since contacted Bank of America several times regarding this matter. Bank of America has consistently refused to address the issue in good faith. I also contacted Congresswoman Jenkins' office regarding Bank of America's conduct towards my parents. A representative from her office called me and told me that they are aware that Bank of America has a pattern of such conduct.
We arrived 1/2 hour till close on a Saturday and the lobby was full. They stayed open late and helped us get accounts opened for my father in law. We only had this one day to get it done because we came from Texas and my wife was super stressed as things hadn't gone well earlier in the day getting accounts closed at another bank. Mike stayed late and got it done and didn't try to rush through things. It was an hour after close when we got finished. Thank you BOA and Mike!
I own a condominium in Topeka subject to a mortgage held by Bank of America home loans. Bank of America failed to process my December 2013 payment, which I scheduled using its online payment system. Rather than calling me and alerting me to the late payment, Bank of America began making harassing phone calls to my parents, who are cosigners on the loan. During these calls, Bank of America's agents refused to disclose their purpose for calling and demanded that my parents disclose personal identification, including their social security numbers. Because Bank of America's agents were behaving like identity thieves, my parents refused to provide them any information and correctly concluded that the calls were not being placed by a reputable company.
I was shorted $100 on a transaction. When I tried to call the bank to speak to them about it no one would answer the phone. The phone message tells you they are busy with other customers. They give you several options but none of them include leaving your number so they can get back to you. I have never had a bank that did not have someone who would answer the phone before.
